Multilingual Justice - From Nuremberg to The Hague

AIIC Netherlands presents: Multilingual Justice - From Nuremberg to The Hague
An exhibition on the interconnected story of simultaneous interpretation and international criminal justice organized by AIIC.

If you are in The Hague between 20 November and 11 December 2017, don't miss this informative exhibition in the Atrium of The Hague City Hall. It takes the birth of simultaneous interpretation, at the first-ever international criminal tribunal, as a springboard to introduce visitors to two interlinked worlds:
  • the profession of simultaneous conference interpreter, the work of interpreters at the international courts, AIIC, and the Dutch AIIC cooperative Congrestolken, and
  • the development of international criminal justice, the work of the various international courts and tribunals, and the Hague as International City of Peace and Justice.

Atrium, City Hall, Spui 70, 2501CL The Hague

You will see photographs, video material and information panels on
  • the pioneers of our profession and conference interpreters today
  • early simultaneous equipment and state-of-the-art booths fitted with live courtroom transcript, evidence display, and video-link
  • the fascinating work of the Nuremberg trials, the Yugoslavia Tribunal, the International Criminal Court, the Special Tribunal for Lebanon and more.
