“North meets South”: walking tours in Benoordenhout and Bezuidenhout

Benoordenhout and Bezuidenhout, two neighbourshoods in The Hague seperated by the Haagse Bos. Both have their own unique character. The Hague Bridge invites you for a series of walking tours in Benoordenhout and Bezuidenhout, where you get the chance to learn more about these neighbourhoods.

  • 01:45 pm Assemble at the Church of Our Saviour The Hague (Entrance at Helenastraat 8) 
  • 02:00 pm Welcome by Lilianne Blankwaard (City District director Haagse Hout) and Willem Post (International Advisor to the Mayor & Deputy-Mayors) 
  • 02:15 pm Start of the walking tours 
  • 03:45 pm End of the walking tours and return to the Church of Our Saviour for a drink and a snack 
  • 05:00 pm End of the event

Practical information on the walking tours

There are 5 walking tours from which you can choose. Please indicate during registration which tour you prefer. Also indicate which tour is your second choice (in case your first choice is already full). Only 15 people can join a walking tour, so sign up quickly!

1. Bombing of Bezuidenhout

Walking tour through a part of Bezuidenhout that was accidently bombed by allied forces during WWII

2. Architecture of Bezuidenhout

Walking tour that will bring you to the architectural highlights of Bezuidenhout

3. A visit to the Haagse Bos with a ranger
Walking tour through one of the oldest forests of The Hague, where you can also find the royal palace Huis ten Bosch

4. Clingendael Estate

Walking tour through Clingendael Estate, where you can find the renowned Clingendael Institute and the Japanese Garden

5. Signs of War in the Haagse Bos
Walking tour through the Haagse Bos, where you can still find remembrances of the WWII

About The Hague Bridge
The Hague Bridge is a programme of the Municipality of The Hague. The Hague Bridge organises events to bring together the locals and internationals, promote The Hague as the international city of peace & justice, and encourages city pride among its residents.

This event is organised together with City District Haagse Hout, Stichting 3 maart ’45, Wijkvereniging Benoordenhout, Wijkberaad Bezuidenhout and Gilde Den Haag.
